Questions About Composting
For questions about composting, please take the following steps:

1. A list of Site Contents may be found on the Home Page. Find the topic that matches your question and read that information first. If a topic does not have an active link, that means that you must be logged into the site to access it.
2. Check our lists of eBooks to see if we have materials that answer your questions.
3. Post your question to the Compost Message Board. Many Master Composters and experienced home composters participate in this board!

We do not have resources to answer individual composting issues by email, mail, or phone. Please leave your questions on the Message Board. Thank you.

Obtaining a Login, i.e., Access to the Site
We are currently offering one year's web site access as a Free-Gift-with-Purchase with the 2008 purchase of an eBook authored by our site editor Mary Tynes from Booklocker.com. For details, see the User Access Request form.

Please do not write and ask to be given free access to the site without making a purchase. Thank you.

Finding a Home Composting Program in Your Location
The "Local Programs" and "Compost Education: Local" sections of our Netlinks page list web sites of programs offering Master Composter programs, home composting training, compost demonstration areas, and compost programs by mostly non-profit organizations. Contact them for programs offered, schedules, and cost.

We frequently get mail asking: "There is no program in my area on your list; do you know of a program in my area?" Please do not waste your time sending this question. We have no reason to keep a secret list of compost programs. If we know about a program in your area, it will be listed on the Netlinks page. If there is not a program listed for your location, we don't know of one. Thanks!

Requests for Materials
We offer several eBooks. We periodically publish other materials by making them available from the web site. If you would like notification when new materials are available, please sign up for our mailing list. It's free. We do not sell, rent, or give-away our email/mail lists. The list for User Access and the Mailing List are separate -- Signing up for one does not put you on the other.

Again, we have no reason to keep a secret stash of materials available. Information is on the web site regardingeverything we have. Please do not write and ask if we have additional materials available -- we don't. Thank you.

Submission of Local Home Composting Program Information
The "Local Programs" and "Compost Education: Local" sections of our Netlinks page list web sites offering Master Composter programs, home composting training, compost demonstration areas, and compost programs by non-profit and for-profit organizations, subject to the approval of www.mastercomposter.com™. There is no charge for non-profit programs, an annual fee for for-profit businesses. See more information here. The local program is responsible for the accuracy of their listing, as well as submitting timely updates as necessary. Please submit your local program. We like for the list to be as complete as possible. Thanks!

Advertising
We have temporarily suspended our advertising program to incorporate new ideas. If you would like to be notified when advertising opportunities become available, please email us using this form. Only advertising-related messages will be addressed in response to this form.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: In reponse to your mailed query, we will send you a postcard as shown below, which will indicate that we do not know the answer to your question, refer you back to this page or the site, or include a brief note answering your question. We have created this rather unusual process of communication because the quantity of email we receive is more than we can handle and because 99% of the questions we receive are answered on this page -- people either don't want to bother reading it or they believe they are special and these instructions don't apply to them. While it's true that our site visitors ARE special, the instructions apply to all. We are hoping that using snail mail will reduce these messages down to only those from people who have a legitimate question. Thank you for your understanding.
